SchilderThe Munich Center on Governance (MCG) promotes and facilitates interdisciplinary research and innovative collaborations between researchers from different fields:

Main Fields of Research at MCG

  1. Analysis of complex governmental regimes in terms of the interaction of a variety of coordination mechanisms, such as law and consensus or market and hierarchy
  2. Study of the institutional design of different governance regimes, which are characterized by territorial differentiation and differing levels of governance: particular attention is given to the effectiveness of federalism and the design of new transnational institutions.
  3. Investigating the influence of the media on decision-making processes in politics, business, and law and observing the impact of this development on the functioning and performance of the affected regulatory domains
